Fundamental trichology (TU)

In connection with the rapid development of knowledge in the field of hair research, in 2007 in Ukraine, the Collegium of the Institute of Trichology for the first time created and patented a program of thematic improvement in fundamental trichology based on the achievements of world science and practice, which is regularly updated based on the results of top scientific and practical events and the latest publications. In 2023, highlights from the World Congress for Hair Research (WCHR2022, Melbourne), the Annual Congress of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD 2023, New Orleans), and the Congress of European Hair Research Society (EHRS2023, Sheffield) were integrated into the program.

PROGRAM OF THREE-DAY COURSE TU "FUNDAMENTAL TRICHOLOGY"

1. Introduction to the discipline
  • 1.1. The main directions of scientific research, the latest terminology and classifications in dermatotrichology.
  • 1.2. Modern concepts of the basic aspects of the biology of the hair follicle, the clinical significance of the influence of genetic, endogenous and exogenous factors on hair development and the occurrence of dermatotrichological pathology.
  • 1.3. Diagnostic route of a trichological patient and its interpretation (special trichological tests, trichoscopy, trichogram, phototrichogram, scalp biopsy, clinical and laboratory studies).
  • 1.4. Acquisition of practical skills in working with diagnostic equipment with the basics of trichoscopy.
2. Clinical trichology
  • 2.1. A modern view on the issues of etiopathogenesis, differential diagnostic algorithms, European standards of treatment and alternative methods of therapy for major pathologies in the practice of a dermatotrichologist.
  • 2.1.1. Diffuse forms of alopecia (telogen effluvium, anagen effluvium, lost anagen syndrome, short anagen syndrome, trichotillomania).
  • 2.1.2. Alopecia areata.
  • 2.1.3. Androgenetic alopecia in men and women.
  • 2.1.4. Scarring forms of hair loss.
  • 2.1.5. Diseases of the scalp.
3. Applied Trichology 3.1. Application of modern methods of therapeutic and preventive measures in therapy and dynamic observation of patients with a dermatotrichological profile (author's algorithms for the combined use of cosmeceutical scalp and hair care, physiotherapy, injection and surgical methods in hair treatment).


The program includes an analysis of interesting examples from practice, answers to your questions in the field of treatment and care of hair and scalp, the acquisition of practical skills in working with diagnostic trichoscopic equipment. This course is designed for trichologists, dermatovenerologists, dermatocosmetologists, general / family practitioners, interns and medical students interested in trichology.

Training at the Trichology Institute provides an opportunity to participate in the treatment process of the clinic in an atmosphere of collegial communication. The methodological material is presented in the author's monographs and literature. Specially equipped classrooms and clinical rooms of the European level allow you to successfully acquire knowledge and practical skills in trichology. Classes are held from 10.00 to 18.00, 2 coffee breaks and a lunch for the students of the clinic are provided daily. After completing the course, a personal certificate is issued and, upon request, a state certificate TU of Karazin Kharkiv National University. Advanced training in fundamental trichology can be an on-site educational course.
